Rochelle Russell in Taunton and Wellington

Born into a mining family in the North- East, I’ve lived and worked all over the country before settling in Wellington. I’ve worked as a cleaner, an artist’s model, a performer at Glastonbury Festival and in youth provision and adult social care whilst raising my family.

I first became politically active in my teens, and one of my most rewarding roles was as a Borough Councillor. I am standing because working people are being badly let down by the current political system and have lost hope- particularly the young.

Many people I talk to have lost all interest in politics – we need to demonstrate there is a better way that will serve the working people of this country, not continually punish them.
