Dear Comrades
The inaugural meeting of the recently founded Student Commission of the YCL will be held in Glasgow on 29 February 2020 from 12:30pm onwards.
All YCL members who are school, college or university students are eligible and strongly encouraged to attend.
The Student Commission meeting will be held in Unity Books in Glasgow – the headquarters of the Communist Party in Scotland, 72 Waterloo Street, G2 7DA (5 minutes from Central Station). The inaugural meeting is open to all YCL members across Britain who are school, college or university students.
The day will consist of a series of discussions on student politics and upcoming work, as well as workshops on organising student and the practicalities of setting up and running student societies.
YCL General Secretary, Johnnie Hunter will also deliver an address on the current political situation and organisation priorities of the YCL.
If you are interested in attending then please confirm your attendance by emailing office@ycl.org.uk, clearly marking your email “Student Commission Meeting”.
We would strongly encourage all branches to maximise attendance and ensure they are represented. This is sure to be a great event and all student members from across Britain are encouraged to attend.
Any necessary expenses can be paid for and accommodation can be arranged as well.
The Commission will be followed by a social organised by the Glasgow Branch of the YCL. Further details will be published shortly.
